This week’s card class was all about texture, color, and a fun technique you’ll want to try right away—the chalk resist technique using Stampin’ Up!’s Soft Pastels Assortment and VersaMark Ink.
I paired the technique with the Textured Notes Stamps & Dies to create a card that’s bold, bright, and full of layered detail.
🌟 Featured Colors
-
Blueberry Bushel
-
Coastal Cabana
-
Granny Apple Green
Together, these colors created such a vibrant, playful background—perfect for summer crafting or sending a cheerful “hello.”
🖌️ The Chalk Resist Technique
Here’s how it works:
-
Stamp your image in VersaMark Ink on cardstock.
-
Apply the Soft Pastels Chalks directly over the stamped area.
- Wipe away excess chalk powder with a tissue to blend
-
Watch as your stamped image appears like magic, with beautiful chalky texture and soft blended color.
I finished the design with a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels gave the card just the right amount of sparkle!
